Prayers for Louisiana
Today our thoughts and prayers are with our Gulf Coast family in the state of Louisiana as Hurricane Ida continues up the eastern coast of the United States. Louisianans, sorrowfully, are no stranger to hurricanes and will emerge from yet this storm as well.
“When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.” -Isaiah 43:2 NIV
Hurricane Ida made landfall near Port Fourchon, LA on August 29, 2021 as a category four hurricane with wind speeds topping out at 103 MPH.
Louisiana is home to nearly 50,000 miles of pipelines with “the greatest pipeline mileage in the 19 parishes located on or near the Gulf of Mexico, nearest to the major oil and gas production areas.” according to the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR) website.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration attributes Louisiana’s 17 oil refineries to account for nearly 20% of the nation’s refining capacity and can process about 3.4 million barrels of crude oil per day.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by Hurricane Ida as recovery efforts are underway. Time For Change, LLC. is actively supporting recovery efforts through the Hope City Disaster Relief team with resources already deployed over the weekend.
